Gravel bikes
Sydney isn't an obvious gravel city until you start looking. The fire trails through the Royal National Park and the Blue Mountains, the dirt roads west of the Hawkesbury, the broken stuff threading the suburbs that nobody calls gravel until they wish they had bigger tyres. A modern gravel bike (disc brakes, 38–45mm tyres, geometry that's slacker than road but not slack enough to feel slow on tarmac) handles all of it without compromise.
What we stock for gravel: Trek (Checkpoint — alloy and carbon, road-leaning gravel), Orbea, Parlee, Factor, Passoni.
Most modern gravel bikes are essentially one-bike wonders, being fast enough on the road, capable enough on the rough. Tyres make more difference than the frame at certain price points. We'll set you up with whatever rubber suits your terrain — slick-centred for road-heavy days, knobby for fire trails, in-between for mixed.
