What's new in the MC Velo app

The MC Velo app has come a long way since May — a fuller news feed, every event on one screen, in-app workshop booking, and, for members, Ride Radar's route-aware forecasts.

The MC Velo app has come a long way since May — faster than we've been shouting about it — so consider this your nudge to open it up and have a poke around.

Haven't installed it yet? On iPhone or Android, open app.mcvelo.cc in Safari or Chrome, tap Share (or the browser menu), and choose Add to Home Screen — it installs just like a native app. Sign in with your email or Google account and you're in.

For everyone

A fuller news feed. Blog posts from mccyclery.com.au now flow into the app's news feed automatically. We've also started rotating a Hot Deal through the feed roughly every three weeks, so you can spot what's on special without having to remember to check the shop page.

Every event that matters, on one screen. The Ride/Events tab now brings together the local fondo calendar, the pro racing season (Tour de France, Giro, Vuelta) and MC's own rides.

Shareable ride details. Every open ride now has its own page on our website, too. Handy when you're talking a mate into coming along — send the link and they can see the route and start time before they commit.

Book the workshop from inside the app. A booking sheet slides up from the More page, so you can lock in a service or bike fit without switching apps.

Ride Every Stage. Our Tour de France 2026 companion comp ran through July, tracking your daily rides against the stage schedule — with joker days for when life got in the way. Stay tuned for a La Vuelta edition!

For MC Velo members

These premium features are unlocked with an active MC Velo membership.

Ride Radar. The single biggest addition. Open a ride detail page and the weather card no longer shows a generic Sydney forecast — instead it follows the route, "rides" it at your expected pace, and pulls the actual forecast for each point at the time you'll be there. That's why the temperature range on a member ride now reflects the real course and time window, not a daily average. Tap Ride Radar on the weather card for the full per-position readout: feels-like temperatures, wind, rain and cloud cover, hour by hour.

Club Activities feed. A new Activities tab on the Rides page pulls every connected member's recent rides into a single stream. Great for keeping up with friends on the road.

Renewals, handled for you. When your MC Velo membership is coming up for renewal, you'll get a reminder a week out and again the day before, plus an in-app banner — so it never sneaks up on you.
