The Spring Classics motivate us to ride more!

The Spring Classics in Europe are well and truly upon us. The first cobbled races of 2023 are now finished, and all eyes are looking forward to the Monuments of the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix.

The Spring Classics bring us one of the most exciting periods of racing of the entire cycling year.

And there is nothing better than riding with friends telling tales of adventure and rerouting the great moments of races overnight.

We have some special MC Velo long rides this week in addition to our normal weekly schedule.

If you are interested in these rides and the value of MC Velo membership, please get in contact with us directly at team@mccyclery.cc.

We are riding the next Longest Day this coming Friday. Clocks change at the beginning of April so this is a last day before we lose the late sunset (which hopefully we don't need). The last time we ventured here was November 2020 (with tales to tell read about our last adventure here).

RSVP in MC TeamApp is essential for this ride.

On this ride, you will need to bring spares and be self-sufficient. You will need: 2 x hydration, on-bike food, sunscreen, spares, money, motivation and a sense of adventure.

Please also ensure you have recently serviced your bike and tires and brake pads are challenge-worthy.

The route has many options to change its length to suit your appetite and adventure threshold. The ride from Centennial Park back to MC Clubhouse is 225kms 3000^m. https://www.strava.com/routes/3067735571832844212

This is an introductory gravel ride in a beautiful part of Sydney. This will lead out on Sunday in the St Alban’s Common to and from Wiseman’s Ferry.

You will need a gravel bike or road bike with 30+mm tyres.

We will stop for coffee/brunch after the ride in Wiseman’s Ferry at Heritage Valley Cafe.

The route is 52kms 608^m. Route details available here.

Please ensure you bring spares, sunscreen, 2 x hydration.

For those not choosing the gravel road less travelled, on Sunday we will also be running our very familiar ride route to the National Park Whale Watching Platform at Cape Solander, before coffee at Milkhaus.

Please remember spares and hydration.

Our ride will finish at Eksentrik Cafe for those wanting coffee and/or breakfast.
